When you mix creativity and individuality with good design, magic happens, of course. But the thinking behind the RAE ANYA brand goes a little deeper than that!
We all live in a disposable society where the vast majority of consumer goods end up in landfill. What if we could turn that on its head by producing high quality clothing passed down through generations as heirloom pieces, or, breathe new life into discarded yet beautiful furniture. In the UK!
Its a small step for sure, but making the best possible use out of our natural resources has got to be the way forward, for the good of people and planet!
Rae has been designing & creating homewares & luxury wear for adults & children for over 30 years. Since she first picked up a sewing needle at the age of 6, she has gone on to develop a wide range of creative and design skills which she uses to create the collections at RAE ANYA.
Rae has drawn inspiration from the places she has travelled to and these influences are woven into her designs. These include traditional French, Italian, English and New England elements and the more boho energy of The Balearics., where she spends a lot of time.
From bespoke soft furnishings, furniture restoration, small homewares & adornments, designing and handcrafting bridal, bridesmaid and black tie gowns, handbags, purses and childrenswear, Rae has had a career filled with designing & bringing truly exceptional bespoke, commissioned creations to life for her clients.
FUN FACT - Rae’s creative flair caught the eye of a production company working on the BBC prime time TV show The Big Day, presented by Nick Knowles. With no prior briefing from the brides (talk about trust), Rae was given the job of designing and making the wedding dresses completely blind; the brides saw them for the very first time on their actual wedding day! Now that's a design challenge!
